Abstrakt

Th e article presents problems touched upon by the author in his doctoral dissertation (KONTN Y 2001a). It is complemented by two other papers (KONTN Y 2002a; 2003a) on a similar topic. I'm aware of possible distortions of ancient reality, immanently connected with the same process of scrutinizing an archaeological material. The weapon we research is far from the vivid culture (lebende Kultur as coined by H.J. EGGERS 1951) but a lot of possible distortions may be reduced or omitted if only intact, adequately described graves are taken into consideration. Such a selection was introduced in the paper presented here.
